A few weeks ago Patterns for Pirates released the Cocoon Cardigan and I bought it right away!  I had the perfect sweater knit for it.  I’ll have to show it to you sometime! But for now I want to show you the Butterfly Cardigan, which is the girls version of the Cocoon Cardigan.  I loved testing this pattern! It is such a quick sew! I sewed up 4 Butterfly Cardigans and one Cocoon Cardigan during testing.  First up is this super cute cropped length cardigan in a beautiful mustard sweater knit from Knitpop.

Butterfly Cardigan #patternsforpiratesI used this sweater knit for a Mama Ava for myself and had just a bit left over.  Of course I couldn’t just sew her a cardigan with no shirt to coordinate with it, so I used this amazing double brushed poly to sew a Talor Tank to wear with it.  She just loves this outfit! She told me it makes her feel like a grown up.

Butterfly Cardigan #patternsforpiratesIt does make her look more grown up.  Or that could be the adult teeth making her look grown up………

Not to leave the little one out I also whipped up these two cardigans in the tunic length with long sleeves.  More appropriate for winter.

Butterfly Cardigan #patternsforpiratesFor these I used a rayon spandex blend from Girl Charlee.  I’ve had this heart fabric for a while (received in a KnitFix bag) and wasn’t sure what to make with it, but I just love these cardigans!  Pumpkin loves it, too.  She has worn it twice already!  I think it’s the pockets.  She loves pockets.

Butterfly Cardigan #patternsforpiratesYep, she was pretty excited about pockets.

Lastly I made a mommy and me set for Cupcake and I with a remnant of sweater knit from Joann’s.

Butterfly Cardigan #patternsforpiratesThese are both tunic length with 3/4 sleeves.  I also did a short band on all of these, but a tall band is also an option.

Butterfly Cardigan #patternsforpiratesWe wore these out the other day and we were so cute.  She has her 100th day of school coming up and she wants to wear this cardigan to school that day when she dresses up like she’s 100 years old.  So, apparently I made her an old lady sweater! Ha!

Seriously, though, this is such a cute cardigan and it’s such a wardrobe staple!  I want to make about a million more and put one on the girls every day!

Pick up the Butterfly Cardigan or the Cocoon and Butterfly bundle through Monday the 23rd while they’re on sale!  No coupon code needed!
