Easter is just 6 days away! Are you ready? Have your menu set? Did you buy eggs, yet? I’m looking forward to having hard boiled eggs on hand! #iloveeggs But first we’ll have to dye the eggs! There are all sorts of ways to dye eggs, so don’t settle for solid colors! Or well, you can do that, too, because they’re still pretty and it’s fun to do, but if you want to have a little more fun try these Marbled Easter Eggs!
Without a lot of extra effort you get a lot of extra wow factor! When you first take them out of the dye bath you can’t really tell the swirly effect they’re going to take on.
But once you wipe the excess off you’ll see just how swirly they are!
So let’s make some! You’ll need:
Hard boiled eggs
Liquid food coloring
Set aside a bowl or cup for each of the colors you want to make. In each bowl add 1 cup of warm water, 1 tablespoon of vinegar and your food coloring (10-20 drops). Then add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to each bowl and swirl.
Dip eggs in the water/color mixture, gently stirring them to ensure all sides of the eggs are covered. Remove the eggs and pat dry. The longer you submerge the eggs the darker the color will be. Once the egg is dry you can dip it into another color.
This really gives the eggs a fun marbled effect without a lot of extra effort! Certainly you have the olive oil in your pantry, so why not give it a try!
