I feel so ahead of the game right now!  I’ve already got the girls’ Christmas dresses done!  Wait, I still need to send out cards, sew their pajamas and do some shopping, so I guess I’m not really ahead of the game.  The Christmas cards are ordered, though!  We took photos over the weekend in their new dresses for our card, so I thought I’d show them off.

Christmas DressesHave you ever seen such cuteness?

Oh, yeah.  Their dolls got matching dresses, too.  Both dresses are a mash up of two Made for Mermaids patterns.  It’s Pumpkin’s favorite combo of the Brooklyn dress bodice and Riley skirt.

Brooklyn Riley Christmas DressPumpkin and her baby, Rosie both got plaid flutter sleeves per request.  I lined the flutters because I don’t like to do a rolled hem finish and because I wanted them to look a little nicer than with an unfinished edge.  I topstitched with my coverstitch machine to give them a clean finish.  And I love the way they turned out.

Brooklyn/Riley Christmas DressWhen I asked Cupcake what kind of sleeves she wanted she said plaid.  So she and Kit Kitredge got plaid sleeves.  Once she saw Pumpkin’s flutters she was having second thoughts, so I made a bow to fancy up her dress a bit and she was much happier.

Brooklyn/Riley Christmas DressBoth fabrics are from Girl Charlee.  I just loved this buffalo plaid and knew it would make adorable dresses.  And I was right.  And I kind of wish I had ordered more and made myself a dress, too!

dsc_4449Why is this Pumpkin’s favorite dress?  The twirl factor!  I asked for a twirl and she was on it!  Cupcake not so much……

Do you have holiday outfits picked out, yet?
