I’d love to tell you I’m currently using this DIY laundry soap to wash my clothes, but my washing machine is on the fritz. It’s actually been “repaired” once in the last week, but it’s still not up to snuff. So I’m forced to do the minimal amount of washing to get by until the Maytag man comes back on Friday. And you better believe once it’s fixed I’ll be doing load after load after load………..I’m not looking forward to that. And I’ll be using this soap.
I start by grating some
This Fels Naptha soap is stinky! But it’s a great stain remover. After grating I run it it through the food processor to chop it good.
It’s a little weird to be running soap through the food processor, but it’s the best way to get the soap grated without wearing your arm out grating by hand and to save your nose hairs. Just be sure to scrub it good after using it.
Add your 1 bar of grated Fels Naptha to 1 cup Borax and 1 cup of washing soda, mix, mix, mix, and you’re done. 1 tbsp per load and you are good to go. This stuff will last you a lot of loads! It’s cheaper than store bought detergent and it’s fragrance and dye free.
