One of my favorite flavor combinations is peppermint and chocolate. Particularly candy cane and Oreos. You remember Peppermint Surprise, right? So when I saw these Candy Cane Melts I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them. It was time to make peppermint dipped Oreos!
Yum! This is my kind of no bake dessert.
I simply melted the candy melts in the microwave at 50% power for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between until they were melted. If your melts are a little too thick you can add a bit of shortening to help thin it out. I would have done that if I had some on hand. But I didn’t. And they still turned out great!
Just dip your cookies one at a time into the melted candy and remove, letting the excess drip off. I do this with a fork. Set aside on a Silpat lined baking sheet and allow the candy to firm back up. One bag of candy melts will cover about half the package of Oreos. This comes in handy when one person in your house just likes his Oreos plain. I’m not naming names.
I love quick no bake desserts. These would be great to take to holiday parties or make great gifts for your neighbors. Enjoy! I know I did!

These two goofballs were very interested in my photoshoot. Their patience paid off!
