If you haven’t noticed by now I love burgers.  I love turkey burgers, chicken burgers, teriyaki burgers, Smashburgers….mmmm….burgers.  I’m always on the hunt for a new burger to try.  I spotted some premade burgers at the grocery store one day, spinach and feta and it sparked an idea.  I don’t like feta, so I decided to whip up some Spinach and Mozzarella Turkey Burgers.

Unfortunately for Cupcake this is not a kid friendly mixing operation.  Raw meat, an egg, yeah I don’t want preschooler hands in there.

And doesn’t it just figure right as I was ready to get cooking a thunderstorm rolled in!  So much for cooking on the grill.

I made sure they had a good crisp one one side before flipping.  Keeps the burger juicy.  That’s the Smashburger way.

Hot off the griddle and served up with some steaming hot corn on the cob.  I was super excited to have leftovers of these!  No complaints about having them two days in a row.

Spinach and Mozzarella Turkey Burgers Recipe

These will be perfect for your summer grilling.  You should grill some Spinach and Mozzarella Turkey Burgers up tonight (or tomorrow if you need to make a grocery run first)!

Spinach and Mozzarella Turkey Burgers

Spinach and Mozzarella Turkey Burgers


  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup packed frozen spinach (thawed, moisture squeezed out)
  • pepper to taste


  1. Add all the ingredients in a medium bowl and combine well without over mixing. Form into 4 equal sized patties. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before cooking. Cook thoroughly. Serve on a bun with your favorite toppings.

  1. Hmmmm….we just bought a new grill. Literally, yesterday. I will put these on the menu. Although I do like feta. BTW I tried the DLM ranch burgers you talked about the other day and I thought they were kinda tough. Overmixed probably. I will try your recipe next time.
